When it comes to the design and fabrication of steel structures, quality is not just about good materials or precise engineering — it’s also about the accuracy and integrity of welds, which are the backbone of any steel framework. At Hasanoglu, we place great emphasis on welding inspection to ensure the highest levels of safety and durability in every project we deliver.
Here are the most common and reliable methods of welding inspection that we use to meet international quality standards:

- Visual Inspection (VT)
This is the simplest and fastest method, performed by highly skilled inspectors who visually check for:
- Cracks
- Porosity
- Uneven or irregular weld beads
While it’s quick and cost-effective, visual inspection cannot detect internal flaws, so it’s usually just the first step in the inspection process.
- Ultrasonic Testing (UT)
One of the most precise methods. High-frequency ultrasonic waves are sent into the welded joint, and if there are any internal defects or voids, the waves reflect back and are captured by a specialized device.
This technique is ideal for deep or hidden welds.
- Radiographic Testing (RT)
Much like X-rays used in hospitals, this method uses X-rays or Gamma rays to create an internal image of the weld.
Every defect, crack, or cavity inside the weld appears clearly on the image, making RT one of the most reliable techniques for final inspections, especially in critical or large-scale projects.
- Magnetic Particle Testing (MT)
A magnetic field is applied, and fine magnetic particles are spread over the weld. If there’s a surface or near-surface crack, the particles gather around it, making the flaw visible.
This is an effective method for detecting surface-breaking defects on ferromagnetic materials.
- Dye Penetrant Testing (PT)
A special dye is applied to the weld surface. If there are tiny surface cracks, the dye penetrates them. After removing the excess dye and applying a developer, the defects appear clearly with contrasting color.
This method is ideal for non-magnetic materials and detecting fine surface flaws.
Why Does Hasanoglu Focus on Welding Inspection?
Because:
- Structural safety starts with proper welds
- We comply with international standards like AWS and EN
- We are committed to customer satisfaction and long-term durability
At Hasanoglu, we don’t just fabricate steel structures — we ensure that every joint and weld is carefully inspected and tested. Because we believe that there’s no strong structure without excellent welding.
